Masterson’s Lounge, nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I found behind its entrance was appalling and beyond comprehension .

From the moment I entered , it was immediately obvious that cleanliness was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a foul smell of decaying beverages and dirty bathrooms permeated the entire venue . Reeking of a mixture of urine , decay and illness . The serving zone , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and trash that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. For a business that caters to patrons, these issues are utterly disgraceful and raise serious concerns about the safety of the food and drinks .
